Have you ever had someone just break your heart and commit a bad sin against you or someone you know? What do you do in those very critical moments? Do you let your mind go wild with hatred and your heart get filled with bitterness and remorse to that person?
When Jesus was being crucified on the cross, he didn't let any bad thought enter his mind. Instead He said "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing" (Luke 23:34). These people had no love for Jesus at all, they beat him up ... but Jesus still asked God to forgive them. This is the example we should be following to. Is there someone that you hold a grudge against today, because of something they have done to you in the past? If you do please don't let that hatred grow in your heart, but go and pray to God right now. Ask him to heal the hurt inside you and then forgive that person of the wrong they did to you. Then ask God to forgive them of their sins.
I know this is not easy by any means, in fact it's really hard for us... and that's the way Satan wants it. Recently I have just learnt who raped my sister about five years ago. FIVE YEARS went by without knowing who this person was and now I found out and it just became more real than it ever has. This person has a name...they have a face.... It was hard but I forgave that person, and I asked our Heavenly Father to forgive them of their sins. It still hurts ... a lot. But Jesus is helping me to love this person instead of hating them. It is incredible to feel love for a person that really hurt your family... WILL YOU LET JESUS FILL YOUR HEART WITH LOVE FOR YOUR ENEMIES?
CHALLENGE: PRAY AND ASK JESUS TO WORK IN YOUR HEART AND HELP YOU TO LOVE THOSE WHO SINNED AGAINST YOU.... ASK HIM FOR STRENGTH TO LOVE YOUR ENEMIES AND TO BE A LIGHT INTO THEIR WORLD.
